History: I am currently suffering from back pain (Lumbosacral).

I believe my daily duties have contributed if not caused the painful symptoms I experience at work. I have seen my doctor many times throughout the years for the pain but have been unsuccessful in completely resolving the issue.

History: I began my postal career July 4, 1994 as a manual distribution clerk. There was quite a bit of repetitive work including lifting full tubs of mail weighing approx. 10-20 pounds from the floor and over my head into equipment for dispatch. I would also have to carry these full tubs of mail around the station to distribute them to mail carriers for delievery that day. This had to be done at a quick pace since every minute counted. It was necessary to lift 30-40 tubs per hour intermittenly throughout the shift. I've used over the counter medication to ease the pain, but lately that hasn't worked as well as it used to.

Factors of employment: The repetative nature of my position, along with the heavy lifting more than likely contributed to and/or aggravated my back pain. I use my arms and shoulders to pull, push, and grasp containers of mail while rotating and twisting my body, often while lifting.

Currently, lifting heavy trays is difficult and often causes aches and pains that last several days.

The above statement is to the best of my knowledge.
